"Deus Não Quis / It Wasn't God's Will", short film directed by António Ferreira, has been awarded in Spain at the 14th Festival Ibérico de Cinema , with the Audience Award. This is the 9th international award to this film, (the second from the public), after participating in around 15 international festivals since September 2007.
The 14th Festival Ibérico de Cinema, happened from 14th to 18th May in the spanish city of Badajoz. This festival shows every year the selection of the best films from Portugal and Spain.

The short film PAGO PARA VER / PAY PER VIEW, directed by Luís Manuel Almeida and produced by ZED FILMES, it's one of the 24 films selected to be part of Pangea Day, worldwide cinematographic event, which will happen on the 10th of May 2008, being shown in cinemas, television, internet and mobile phones, covering the whole planet earth.
PANGEA DAY has been idealized by the film maker Jehane Noujaim and is supported by celebrities such has Bob Geldof, Paul Simon, Cameron Diaz, Meg Ryan among others.
PAGO PARA VER / PAY PER VIEW it's one of the 24 selected films, among over than 2.500 films submited, coming from over 100 countries.

The most recent short film by António Ferreira "Deus Não Quis / It Wasn't God's Will", has been awarded at the Cyprus International Short Film Festival, with the BEST FICTION AWARD and the BEST ACTRESS AWARD for Catarina Lacerda. The film was also nominated for Best Photography.
This is the 8th award for this film since it premiered at the Montreal World Film Festival 2007 - Canada.
The Cyprus International Short Film Festival took place at the country's capital Nicosia, after a selection of over 300 films from 39 different countries. The international jury was Panicos Chrysanthou (director), Dervis Zaim (writer), Simon Ostrovsky (director) e Demet Evgar (actress).

The last film directed by António Ferreira "IT WASN'T GOD'S WILL" has been selected for the competition of the 31st Montreal World Film Festival. The film will be competing in the "Festival des Films du Monde" section, where will have its world premiere. (+ info)
